Assignments-
Week 1-
-Assign the first worksheet on matching terms with their definition of what the key terms were in learning how the lakes were formed
Week 2-
- The students will summarize what lake they want to cover and we will go to the computer lab and start doing research on the lakes they all chosen. They can research any lake the decide to and pick what they want to talk about.
- The students will start making their research paper about the lake they had chosen. Each individual is expected to write their own research paper of the lake their group has chosen. After they have a start to what information they have gathered and their group is ready they can begin on their group power point for the lake. ( needs to be about 20 slides long). Have a rough draft of a summary of your paper due on Friday.
Week 3-
-In class assignment of pictures of the creatures that are in the lakes/oceans and have students work in groups to figure out which ones they believe would be found in lakes.
- There homework will be to bring in their favorite picture of a creature that’s found in a lake.
-Take the quiz over the species and creatures that surround the lakes in the Midwest.
Week 4-
-Handout exam study guide for the midterm exam which will cover how lakes are formed, history of the lakes, and how weather affects the lakes
-Review in class and test will be on Monday
Week 5-
- Start a new unit. No homework given this week.
Week 6-
-We will do an in class assignment over the great lakes
-Quiz will be given
Week 7-
-No homework given. Go over outdoor activities surrounding lakes.
Week 8-
-Turn in research paper
